one of the median cartilages lying between the ventral ends of the cleithra of Gobioidei. The ventral intercleithral cartilage is smaller and lies between the antero-ventral tips of the cleithra. The pelvic intercleithral cartilage lies between the postero-ventral tips of the cleithrum and the pelvic bone
